(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Kahuku was the site of the first Rainbow School and has been operating continuously since 1972. We serve approximately 65 children ranging in age from 2 years to 5 years old. Our program is licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet state licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Provides weekly Tutu Support Group that includes counseling, advocacy, information and referral, education and training. Program is for grandparents who are raising or caring for their grandchildren. Agency also umbrellas an outrigger canoe paddling program for youth 10 years and up, and adults. Oldest adult paddling with program is 83 years old.

Mana`olana, Komohana, Lawehana and Kome Transitional housing sites provides safe and decent shelters with case management and assistance towards permanent housing by addressing obstacles which prevent homeless persons from obtaining and retaining permanent housing through a coordinated effort of health, housing, financial and social services.

Offers rewards of up to $1000 to tipster who give information that leads to arrest or indictment of persons committing crimes or for the recovery of stolen property. All calls are confidential. Different unsolved crimes will be publicized in paper or television. Also accepts information on missing persons.

Parents And Children Together provides comprehensive early childhood education services for parents with low-income and children birth to 3 years old, and children with special needs. Childcare services are provided through Kamaaina Kids.

(Youth Employment and Success Hawaii) YES Hawaii serves youth ages 14-26. The program provides peer support and outreach services. The Program is youth driven and designed to engage foster youth in peer mentoring and meaningful and supportive events and activities. Services include outreach and support, peer mentoring, events and activities, leadership and skill-building, and social media and other electronic communication training.

(Food Pantry) Saint William Church provides emergency food boxes once a week. Walk-in for free clothing.

The Caregiver Foundation provides support for the caregivers and individuals needing care through practical and emotional support services and educational programs. Provides comprehensive care coordination, financial management, guardianship, conservatorship, trusteeship, community education programs and caregiver support groups.

(HYOC) Established in 1961, we are Hawaii's longest running community youth choir. We offer a full spectrum of music education, open to all students, grades k-12 throughout Oahu. Students participate through weekly involvement, Saturday Programs, or outreach and festival programs. Participants range from absolute beginners to advanced vocalists. We produce, on average, 20 - 30 concerts per year, half of which are free to the public including music concerts in elderly care facilities and other community venues. HYOC helps to foster the personal and social growth of its members and promotes their self-esteem, as well as giving children a lifetime of music appreciation. We invite you to learn more about HYOC and how our young musicians are building a lifetime of music and arts participation. The chorus was started when our sister organization, Hawaii Opera Theatre (HOT), needed a children's chorus for one of their productions. The relationship with HOT is maintained to this day and when children are needed for their opera productions in the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall they come from HYOC. Music Festivals HYOC produces Choral Festivals specifically for the Elementary aged student (E Mele Kakou) and the advanced treble middle school singer (Na Leo Pili Mai). Each school and community choir is given an experience of basic musical concepts, vocal technique, hula and are invited to share their music with all attendees as well as the opportunity to sing with an orchestra in the beautiful acoustics of Kawaiaha’o Church. In collaboration with ACDA-HI (American Choral Director’s Association-Hawai’i Chapter), HYOC sponsors and participates in the High School Choral Festival (Na Leo Hou). In addition to learning great choral music, weekly classes in theory and hula are taught. Optional classes in piano and voice are also offered. Students must be enrolled as singing members to participate in optional classes. Most importantly we offer young people the opportunity to learn, have fun and make friendships that last a lifetime.

Imua Autism Services works with children up to 6 years old using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is an evidence-based, therapy that focuses on improving social skills, communication and human behavior and is an effective method to help children with autism and other developmental disabilities learn the skills they need to move forward. Imua Family Services understand that each child learns differently. Our goal is to provide an interactive, fun, play-based learning program. We take a collaborative approach incorporating family members and caregivers to develop a comprehensive plan. We work to personalize educational programs for both the child and parents using interviews, observations and natural environment assessments. Imua Family Services also provides ABA services through our Therapeutic Preschool and Kindergarten Readiness Program.
