The Medical Reserve Corps in Hawaii is an all volunteer group with many different skill sets. The Hawaii MRC needs volunteers who have medical and non-medical backgrounds who want to serve their local communities during public health emergencies or large scale emergency response events.

(SHEG) A one time, not ongoing financial assistance for households who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Single, couples and families. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

Responsible for planning, designing, engineering, technical research and safety for highways, bridges, buildings and State roads. Provides information and receives complaints or inquiries concerning State highways on Oahu.

(Waiver program) Assisting persons with disabilities to develop skills, enhance independence, encourage self-reliance and increase community inclusion opportunities.

(HCHP Kohou Clinic, CBCM-RS, Community Based Case Management- Recovery Services, Ohana Project Services, Shelter Plus Care) The Kohou street clinic provides assistance for Health Care for the Homeless Project (HCHP) such as Case Management and Homeless Outreach island wide on Oahu.

Promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children and their parents. Skills are developed around five main components: personal safety, personal growth, stroke development, water sports/game, and rescue.

Helps veterans and their family members make a satisfying post-war readjustment to civilian life through a broad range of counseling and outreach. Offers both individual and group counseling for post-traumatic stress, substance abuse and crisis intervention. Provides assistance in obtaining veterans' benefits.

(Mobile Food Distribution - Hana) Feed My Sheep provides food boxes to those in need.

Provides case management for youth in long term foster care, guardianship, transition, post high school education and post adoption. Provides mental health assessments and parent-child interactive therapy. Provides financial assistance for educational and self-esteem building activities for children in foster care. Provides training, support, resources and referrals to foster, adopt, kinship and guardianship parents. Hosts a Holiday Party for children in foster care and their families.

Hina's Legacy Rescue Foundation organizes regular events where animals in our care are introduced to potential adoptive families or foster homes. Our team works closely with prospective adopters, educating them about the animals’ backgrounds and specific needs, ensuring that every animal is placed in a loving and appropriate home.

(Ola I Ka Hana Youth Program - Kona) Program for low-income at at-risk youth who are in or out of school. Help with building skills to obtain a High School Equivalency or GED, exploring post-secondary education, and employment exploration.

(FFT, Functional Family Therapy) This evidence-based program works with at-risk youth and their families. Prevention and intervention services are family focused and emphasize the development of family members’ inner strengths and allows for greater self-sufficiency. Services are provided at in-home and community-based locations. This is a 3-6 month family therapy treatment system provided in a home/office setting for youth ages 11 years old -18 years old experiencing a wide range of externalizing behavior disorders (e.g. conduct, violence, drug abuse) along with family problems (e.g. family conflict, communication) and often with additional emotional problems (e.g. anxiety and depression). At least one adult/parental figure must be willing to assume long-term parenting role and participate with service providers for the duration of treatment.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Mana`olana, Komohana, Lawehana and Kome Transitional housing sites provides safe and decent shelters with case management and assistance towards permanent housing by addressing obstacles which prevent homeless persons from obtaining and retaining permanent housing through a coordinated effort of health, housing, financial and social services.

Provides a continuum of substance abuse treatment services including: residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment.

(Ho'olana - Waiver, H and CBS Program, Waiver program, Hoolana - Waiver, H and CBS Program) Assisting persons with disabilities to develop skills, enhance independence, encourage self-reliance and increase community inclusion opportunities.

Helping Hands Hawaii's Community Clearinghouse operates a warehouse providing free essential items to persons and families with low-income, people experiencing houselessness, and disaster survivors. Available items may include furniture, basic household goods, hygiene items, food, and clothing. Individuals and families may request assistance online at https://www.bit.ly/hhhassistance Emergency walk‑in assistance is available for clothing, hygiene, and food on Monday, Wednesday 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

(SFHV, Strong Families Home Visits) This program provides comprehensive and culturally appropriate professional and paraprofessional home visitation services to families with children ages birth to 3 years old. Program participants are referred by Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management, or Family Strengthening Services programs. Service interventions reduce child abuse and neglect risks, increase family self-sufficiency, address family stressors, and improve child adjustment and achievement. Domestic Violence Services for Families offers a full spectrum of individual, group and family services to men, women and children to aid in the intervention and prevention of domestic violence in families and to strengthen child resilience and overall wellbeing. Service that are available include: -A Comprehensive Basic Assessment including a Trauma Assessment as needed -Risk Assessment -Crisis Management -Safety Planning -Development of a Comprehensive Service Plan -Individual, group and/or family counseling and support for each referred family member -Supervised visitation/exchanges and/or therapeutic visitation -Support Services and outreach which may include but are not limited to case management, resource linkages, domestic violence advocacy, temporary restraining order support, and in-home visits to educated about parenting and life skills

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.
