Easterseals Hawaii provides individualized early intervention services to children under 3 with or at risk for developmental delays and their families. Program focuses on building a support team for the family and assisting them in meeting challenges via parent coaching and building a foundation of tools and strategies that parents need to support their child’s growth and participation in their community.

(YWCA of Kauai Camp Sloggett) Operates camp for use by schools, churches, non-profit agencies, family groups and other organizations. Used for day-long or overnight workshops, seminars or training programs. Space available for tent camping. Situated in the lush forest of Kokee State Park is YWCA of Kauai Camp Sloggett. We offer a rustic and peaceful atmosphere in the heart of the 4,640 acre Kokee forest and the 1,800 acre Waimea Canyon State Park.

National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Cancer Information Service provides up-to-date information on cancer. Our trained Information Specialists provide personalized responses to a range of cancer topics, including: cancer research and clinical trials, how to find cancer treatment centers, cancer prevention, risk factors, symptoms, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and living with cancer.

Community-based Pregnancy Services provides counseling and supportive services to women experiencing a crisis due to an unplanned pregnancy and their families, with special attention to pregnant teens. Service assists clients to explore all their viable options concerning their pregnancy and to make informed decisions and plans for themselves and their child. Pregnancy Services provides community outreach in order to reach the women and teens in need of services, and assists them in accessing services, advocacy, information and other resources to meet their needs (such as WIC, Medicaid, AFDC.) Birth options counseling is provided if requested as well as planning and assistance through the process for the individual, partner and family.

Initiates new legislation regarding the issues of smoking and tobacco use. Monitors and handles information and complaints regarding existing statutes. Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

Offers rewards of up to $1000 to tipster who give information that leads to arrest or indictment of persons committing crimes or for the recovery of stolen property. All calls are confidential. Different unsolved crimes will be publicized in paper or television. Also accepts information on missing persons.

(MAT) Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America's (PhRMA) Medicine Assistance Tool (MAT) is a search engine designed to help patients, caregivers and health care providers learn more about the resources available through the various biopharmaceutical industry programs. MAT is focused on connecting patients to prescription assistance programs and is a search engine for many of the patient assistance resources that the biopharmaceutical industry offers.

Regulates quality of drinking water provided by public water systems. Ensures that microbiological and chemical contaminants are not introduced into drinking water. Branch regulates public water systems, underground injection wells and performs groundwater monitoring. Water quality complaints and inquiries are generally referred to the water system owner or the building owner. Testing services are not a function of the Department of Health.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Kukui Center was designed and renovated to meet the need to provide an easily identified and specialized place where abused, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families can receive the help they need. Professional and volunteer help is available elsewhere throughout our community but in many different locations. Even when needed, the follow through on referrals can be poor as parents and young adults are often overwhelmed by the demands of their daily lives. Housing a variety of services together is more user friendly for children, youth and families and will help insure they can access the strong community support that is available.

Provides a fun and educational program for children and young adults to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop personal fitness. Promotes and encourages youth of all ages to participate in group and outdoor activities.
