(Hawaii State Health Insurance Assistance Program, SHIP, SAGE Plus) Provides statewide planning, coordination and evaluation of all programs on aging. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. You transport your foster to appointments and love him/her as your own! Fostering timeframe can vary from a minimum of 30 days to potentially a few months, depending on each individual circumstance.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has received reports of fraudulent transactions statewide, but the reports are largely concentrated on the island of Oahu in the urban Honolulu area. What should I do if I suspect a fraudulent transaction has occurred with my EBT card? -DHS encourages all Financial or SNAP clients to be proactive and check their EBT account for unusual transactions. -Please visit the DHS Processing Center (PC) nearest to you to report any fraudulent transaction and to request a replacement card. Can DHS replace my benefits if they were stolen? -Clients who report lost benefits due to a fraudulent transaction must report the lost benefits to DHS and may request replacement of their SNAP benefit. -Congress passed a law in late 2022 to help SNAP participants who are victims of card skimming, cloning and other similar methods of activity. You may want to change your PIN at least one a month, prior to your benefit issuance date. -Know that you have the option to Freeze and Unfreeze your EBT card. When your EBT card is not in use, you can freeze your card and unfreeze your card when you need to use it again for purchases. -Block out-of-state and online transactions. Fraudulent transactions have been reported to occur with online and out-of-state transactions. You may block these types of purchase when you are not traveling out of state or not shopping online. -Beware of Phishing schemes. State agencies and EBT processors will never call or text you to ask for your PIN or card number. Be cautious when you receive these requests and do not share your personal information. (The Boo Boo Zoo) Provides treatment, care and rehabilitation of injured, sick, and orphaned animals. Rescues and cares for animals in distress. Average on site numbers 400 animals including dogs, cats, goats, sheep, cow, horses, deer, fowl, birds. Even if we aren't facilitated to intake an animal still call. We can help, advise or direct you to a source. Staff are all volunteers, donations are sole support.

Angel Flight West is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs. Our network of 1,500+ pilots, as well as commercial airline partners, throughout the 13 western states donate their aircraft, piloting skills, and all flying costs to help families in need, enabling them to receive vital treatment that might otherwise be inaccessible because of financial, medical, or geographic limitations. Ambulatory patients needing medical transportation to the 13 Western States; Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming may be eligible. This includes inter-island transportation as well.

(DHS Return to Homeland Program) Assists eligible Hawaii resident aliens and naturalized citizens in returning to their homelands outside of the United States. This service is not for temporary relocation or vacation but to permanently return to live there. Call for further information and other requirements.

(Youth Build Honolulu) Provides an educational and job training program that prepares its participants for responsible citizenship. Participants are non-high school graduates, 16-24 years of age, with personal histories filled with alcohol and drug abuse, criminal activities, and limited financial resources. Is the last chance for individuals to earn a high school diploma and develop skills to prevent future incarceration, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, and long-term unemployment.

Provides food pantry, clothing, hygiene supplies, medications and clothing to those in need. Serve meals before the food pantry. Every Sunday, church shows a movie, they provide a snack as well during the movie.

Provides access to print electronic publications, websites, and online databases covering a wide range of topics from prevention to permanency, including child welfare, child abuse and neglect, adoption, search and reunion, and much more. (Ohana Finding) Family Finding is a process designed to identify, locate and engage family members of children and youth who are in foster care. Family Finding utilizes database case mining and internet searches to identify and locate family and other possible relatives. Individuals who are identified as possible relatives are verified via phone contact and/or letters, and names of confirmed family members are compiled onto maternal and paternal family lists. These lists are then submitted to Child Welfare Services (CWS), the GAL, and the EPIC Ohana Conference coordinator or the Ohana Connections specialist to assist them in engaging relatives to help care for, provide support for, or reconnect to the child in care.
