(CNHA, Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement) Hawaiian Council is a member-based non-profit organization that has served the Native Hawaiian community since 2001. Organization participates in political advocacy, provides vocational programs through a professional trade academy, provides financial assistance to lessees on Hawaiian home lands, and emergency mortgage, rent, and utilities assistance programs. SBA Microloan Program Starting March 1, 2021 the Hawaiian Council will be accepting loans from $2,500 to $50,000 without a capital contribution from the client. SBA Microloans are oriented to acquisition of inventory, materials, furniture and commercial equipment, improvements to physical plant and working capital. We provide business technical assistance free of charge for the life of the loan. Collateral may be required according to the risk and viability of the business to be financed. Lending is subject to availability of SBA funding. The Kealahou Initiative (Kī) is designed to support the development of ʻōpio leaders through entrepreneurship and innovation. This program is for opio ages 14 years old - 30 years old ready to take their creative ideas and passions through the design and entrepreneurial process, where you can start your own business, social movement, or government initiative. This program will help ʻōpio go from idea to being pitch-ready for investors and supporters at the rate that is best for them. KUHANA ​The Hawaiian Council is launching KuHana Cohort 6 – Food Systems Edition this coming January 10, 2022. All Hawaii-based food-system related (farmers, distributors, value-add) businesses are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to Hawaiian Council members and Hawaiian or minority-owned businesses. Top performers from this cohort will be invited to compete in the Mahiai Match-Up Competition hosted by Kamehameha Schools, where the winners will have an opportunity for an agricultural land or commercial property agreement to expand their company operations. This unique recognition will be given to Native Hawaiians who exemplify leadership qualities and are engaged in their community. The recipient of this recognition will also be given a monetary award to help elevate their work. Provides care coordination and contracts out to Department of Health awarded private providers, community-based, child-focused and family-centered comprehensive behavioral health care. Serves children, adolescents and their families who may suffer from a variety of emotional, behavioral or social adjustment problems. Provides evaluation, treatment planning, direct treatment and case management through contract providers. Provides consultation to Department of Education personnel and private agencies.

Provides special education services based on individual need and as agreed upon in the student Individualized Educational Program (IEP).

(Employees Retirement System - Liaison) Acts as liaison for Employee's Retirement System questions. Handles Health Fund assistance to State and County retirees. Acts as Employees' Retirement System counselor and liaison for all State or County employees and retirees.

Provides support to anyone grieving the death of a friend or family member. Holds one-on-one sessions with staff as well as volunteer assistance offered by individuals who have experienced the grief process. Offers a six week bereavement support group which is held three times annually, providing an opportunity for healing as experiences are shared and information offered. Maintains a lending library of books and videos.

Employment services for residents of Ohana Ola O Kahumana, Kahumana Learning Centers and people from the West Oahu Community. Services for persons facing barriers to successful employment.

(Mana'olana Emergency Homeless Shelter) Provides emergency shelter for homeless individuals and families. Offers case management to help link residents to resources in the community to help stabilize them and begin to rebuild their lives. Mana’olana Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing is located adjacent the KEO office at 2808 Wehe Road, Lihue HI 96766. Also offers dinner meals, showers, sleeping and laundry facilities.

Meals provided Saint Elizabeth Church on Wednesday and Thursday. Clothing, some personal care items, and counseling may be available on Thursday.

Brethren of Christ International provides a hot meal at the same time as their food pantry. Please call in prior to arrival.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Nourishing supplemental foods: Checks to buy healthy foods such as: Milk, Peanut butter, Fruits and vegetables, Canned tuna or salmon, Juice, Whole grain breads, tortillas, Eggs or brown rice, Cheese, Baby foods, Cereal Infant formula, Dry beans or peas, Tofu, and soy milk Health and social service referrals: Help in finding health care and other community services.

The Drivers Program provides a comprehensive evaluation to assess the ability to continue driving or return to driving. The evaluation process is meant to maintain safety for our clients and the community. For those who have sustained a new injury, illness or diagnosis, the Drivers Program assesses abilities to reintegrate into the community by maintaining or regaining driving independence. Additional components of the program include a behind-the-wheel assessment, adaptive equipment consultation and optional additional training sessions. We determine the readiness to drive with an on-site clinical evaluation that includes a comprehensive interview, as well as cognitive, vision and physical assessments with Driver Rehabilitation Specialists. A Behind-the-Wheel assessment is to be completed at the recommendation of the Driver Rehabilitation Specialist.

(Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.
