(Community Program) The Kupu Community Program integrates environmental education, workforce development, and academic support to promote youth empowerment and long-term career success. Participants begin with hands-on malama aina training, gaining experience in natural resource management, while also working toward educational goals like high school completion or GED/HiSET certification. Throughout the program, participants are introduced to an array of workforce development and job readiness opportunities. Kupu provides transitional employment opportunities by offering paid positions with our Kupu Culinary Program or other programs and partnerships.

Developing Options to Violence / Alternatives to Violence - Oahu

Developing Options to Violence (DOV) offers a full spectrum of services to women, men, adolescents, and children in the intervention and prevention of domestic violence. Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. The following services are available to families experience domestic violence: Adult Programs
  • Domestic violence interventions services for individuals who use physical, emotional, psychological and/ or sexual abuse in intimate relationships.
  • Support groups for individuals who are experience emotional, psychological and/or sexual abuse in intimate relationships.
  • Violence Control groups for individuals who have use violence towards other family members (parents, siblings)
Adolescent Program: To assist adolescents in understanding their behavior and how to make appropriate changes. Children's Group: To help children who have witnessed domestic violence understand it and deal with their feelings about it. Parents are required to participate in support group while children receive services.

Emergency Shelter Program

(Emergency and Transitional Housing Programs) HOPE emergency shelter programs provide shelter for families and individuals that are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Services include intake/assessment, case management, referrals/linkages to community resources, access to bed space, storage, meals, laundry, food pantry and clothing bank. On-site life skills classes also provided. Referrals by County's Coordinated Entry System (CES) only.
