The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a peer group support organization offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. Its mission is to assist families toward a positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age from any cause. Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a field. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

Program offers Behavioral Health and Family Resource Services. Provides culturally based, professional counseling programs. Assists clients in their personal quest towards restoration and long-term wellness. Clinical staff encourage and support involving the family therapeutically, as the ohana is an important part of treating the whole person. Ohana Makamae means precious family.

(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention - Leahi, LIHEAP ECI, ECI) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) Energy Crisis Intervention (ECI) is designed to help families keep their utilities (gas or electric) on, especially those households that are most vulnerable, such as the elderly, the disabled, and households with young children. H-HEAP primarily assists households by applying an energy assistance grant directly to the energy provider on behalf of the eligible household. Applications are accepted year-round. (MEO) Reviews credit reports with individuals and provides tips and resources on how to improve credit scores. The program also discusses issues affecting small business owners and helps to find solutions to problems.

Diverts arrested offenders from incarceration in State jails. Screens adult law violators for supervisory release. Provides supervision upon Court order.

The Arc of Kona provides transportation, evaluation, job counseling, training, placement, residential programs, personal assistance, and day activity programs for people with intellectual disabilities.

(ECS, Nā Lima Hana Employment Core Services - Leeward District) The Na Lima Hana Employment Core Services program provides employment preparation training, personalized case management services, tuition assistance for vocational training, and job placement for unemployed and underemployed individuals. (Hawaii Copd Coalition) Hawaii Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (HiCOPD) Coalition was formed in 2007 to provide services and improve treatment of Hawaii adults diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) including emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and its related disorders. Program serves patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and others offering free lung health information, free paper and pen screening tests, tobacco cessation information, monthly support group meetings, presentations on COPD, advocacy, training for volunteers/healthcare workers about COPD and Smoking Cessation counseling, information sharing of licensure for Hawaii’s respiratory therapists which has successfully led to licensing. (ADLRO) The Administrative Driver’s License Revocation Office (ADLRO) is responsible for: Conducting reviews and hearings related to the administrative revocation of driving privileges of respondents arrested in violation of HRS §291E-61 or §291E-61.5 for operating a vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. Issuing review and hearing decisions, and determining the period of revocation to be imposed, and related matters. Issuing ignition interlock permits and employee driver’s permits to eligible respondents whose driver’s licenses have been revoked.
