The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) provides food to the needy on the island making food and products available to agency partner distributions sites. KIFB serves homeless, elderly, children and those experiencing temporary emergencies. KIFB also has a vocational rehabilitation program, operates Keiki Cafe and a Backpack Program as well as provides nutrition education assistance. KIFB makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai.

Keiki Injury Prevention Coalition

A statewide community-based organization of over 150 organizations, agencies and individuals committed to preventing injuries to children and youth. -membership based organization -get together and come up with ways to prevent injury -partner with hospitals -brings members together -provides various inter-prevention programs: car seat safety, safe sleep, teen driving, bicycle helmets/pedestrian safety, water safety, poison prevention & sport safety Go onto to their website to see their calendar of inter-prevention events they hold throughout the state. Pest reports accepted include: wild pigs, snakes, large lizards, ferrets, the banana poka (a weed), the bulbul (a bird) on neighbor islands, and the mongoose on Kauai.
