(DHS Return to Homeland Program) Assists eligible Hawaii resident aliens and naturalized citizens in returning to their homelands outside of the United States. This service is not for temporary relocation or vacation but to permanently return to live there. Call for further information and other requirements.

Provides disaster assistance to commercial agriculture to address economic losses and restore production lands damaged by flood, drought, or other natural disasters. Provides low-interest credit to producers. Shares costs with producers to install approved conservation practices.

(Moku Loa Group) Monitors activities and development on the Big Island for impacts on the environment, water/air quality, pollution, native species, and human health. Works to preserve and protect native species and natural resources, especially native rainforest, native bird and plant habitats, marine and costal areas. Presents monthly programs to inform and educate. Certified hike leaders provide outings for enjoyment and education. Sponsors service trips to maintain trails or protect unique resources.

(TRY, TRY Center, Community Teen Program - Puuwai Momi) Parents And Children Together's Community's Tenacious Rooted Youth (TRY) Centers in Kuhio Park Terrace and Puuwai Momi public housing provides comprehensive development programs for youths who live in and around the housing complexes. After school programs promote the development of youth, families, and communities by providing educational activities and experiences including STEM projects, sports and recreation, community service, skill building, and support services. Programs support the growth and development of our youth by teaching leadership and life skills and encouraging positive experiences as alternatives to drugs and gangs. TRY Center activities are free and open to family residents of public housing complexes in the respective areas. Opens at 1:30pm on Wednesdays during the school year. Extended hours offered during summer and school intersessions. Intake form is good for 1 year.

We Are Oceania (WAO) program provides services and referrals to assist the Micronesian community in the following areas: -Health - help enroll clients in health insurance -Education - work with community colleges to help and guide those that want to go to college -Employment - help with resume and coaching individuals for employment, refer individuals to employers that are hiring for employment -Child welfare services - provide culture consultant to case workers for families that are already receiving public or government assistance but do not understand the system, a program or service completely -Legal - partner with Legal Aid Society and Volunteer Legal Service to help clients with any legal services they need -Public assistance - assist their clients on how to apply and to complete applications, help them with first to work program -Housing - make phone calls and refer clients to emergency shelter, assist with application for housing -Social security, passport and I-94 replacement, guardianship, taxes

Family Support Unit does paternity establishment for the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA). Assists in establishment of paternity and child support for children born out of wedlock. Paternity and support may also be established for children born during a marriage but whose natural father is not the husband. Paternity may be established in certain circumstances when the absent parent lives out of state.

(Hale Hoomalu) Provides services to individuals who are experiencing domestic violence or threatened with same. Offers assistance in obtaining temporary restraining orders (TRO) and complying with related court appearances. Provides court advocacy and support. Offers protective services for families with abused or neglected children through the TRO process (if applicable). Provides psycho-educational groups (both court ordered and voluntary) to men who batter. Provides on-going support groups for victims of domestic violence.
