Provides island wide public transportation, including transportation for disabled individuals. The County of Hawai'i Mass Transit Agency also provides a Shared Ride Taxi Program in Hilo. The Hele-On bus system generally operates Monday through Saturday from 3:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., with limited service on Sundays and County observed holidays. When using the Hele-On Bus System, MTA suggests you wait at official bus stops and arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled time. Mentorship

Common Grace facilitates partnerships between public elementary schools and nearby neighborhood churches in order to provide mentors for at-risk children. Volunteers goes through our basic training seminar that we have through out the school year. We look for mentors that have willing and loving hearts ready to be a friend to the kids at the local elementary school.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Temporary Assistance for Other Needy

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households.
