Best Buddies Middle Schools and High Schools fosters one-to-one friendships between students with and without Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Students with IDD are often isolated and left out of social activities. Best Buddies helps to create an inclusive school climate for students early on in their educational development. The middle school and high school years are a time of heightened social and emotional development and can be difficult even for those without IDD. Best Buddies helps break through social barriers at an important time in a young person's life.

(FFT, Functional Family Therapy) This evidence-based program works with at-risk youth and their families. Prevention and intervention services are family focused and emphasize the development of family members’ inner strengths and allows for greater self-sufficiency. Services are provided at in-home and community-based locations. This is a 3-6 month family therapy treatment system provided in a home/office setting for youth ages 11 years old -18 years old experiencing a wide range of externalizing behavior disorders (e.g. conduct, violence, drug abuse) along with family problems (e.g. family conflict, communication) and often with additional emotional problems (e.g. anxiety and depression). At least one adult/parental figure must be willing to assume long-term parenting role and participate with service providers for the duration of treatment.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Kualoa Heeia Ecumenical Youth Project is accepting donations of goods for persons affected by the Kona Low on March 2026.
