The Humane Society Hawaii Island (HIHS) provides shelter, food, licensing, adoption and euthanasia services for animals picked up by HIHS humane officers or brought in by private owners. Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

(ORL Processing Center) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. (VASH - Kauai) Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. VASH relies heavily on donations and community support. When needed resources are not readily available, we will make requests and network with other agencies to try and meet needs.

The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a peer group support organization offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings. Its mission is to assist families toward a positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age from any cause. (Four-H Youth Program) Provides an informal youth program, designed to assist youth in acquiring knowledge life skills, and becoming self-directed, productive and contributing members of society. Through active, experiential learning, youth learn about science, communication, personal management, leadership, citizenship, health, safety, and nutrition. Members participate in citizenship projects, literacy program using television; "GHOSTWRITERS"; "KAMP" (Kindergartners Are Most Precious) designed to promote school readiness, success and parent-child interaction; and a "Youth At Risk" educational theatre project.

(Healthy Families America Lana'i) Home Visiting program for families who are prenatal or have a newborn in Maui County. We provide a variety of support including resource information, parenting information, child development information and community connection. Virtual services are available.

The Veterans Assistance unit is comprised of Veterans Service Representatives (VSRs) who deliver, with a sense of respect and compassion, those benefits that the law has made available to veterans, their dependents and survivors. VSRs are responsible for direct contact with the public on nearly all VA matters, including advice, counsel, assistance in the preparation of applications for VA benefits, and resolution of inquiries concerning these benefits, development of community resources, outreach to minority veterans, homeless veterans, women and Ex-POW veterans, various veteran groups, and providing transition services to military installations.

(TRY, TRY Center, Community Teen Program - Puuwai Momi) Parents And Children Together's Community's Tenacious Rooted Youth (TRY) Centers in Kuhio Park Terrace and Puuwai Momi public housing provides comprehensive development programs for youths who live in and around the housing complexes. After school programs promote the development of youth, families, and communities by providing educational activities and experiences including STEM projects, sports and recreation, community service, skill building, and support services. Programs support the growth and development of our youth by teaching leadership and life skills and encouraging positive experiences as alternatives to drugs and gangs. TRY Center activities are free and open to family residents of public housing complexes in the respective areas. Opens at 1:30pm on Wednesdays during the school year. Extended hours offered during summer and school intersessions. Intake form is good for 1 year.

Fares are capped and your money goes toward a pass. Once you spend the amount of a pass, you ride the rest of the day or month for free. Senior fares are $3. Transfers are free within 2.5 hours of riding the vehicle.
