Dreams help remind children in crisis that they are special and loved. Dream Imua, formerly A Keiki’s Dream, grants child-directed dreams to children 4-16 years old in crisis of any nature, such as abuse, neglect, homelessness or a major medical issues. This child-directed approach not only offers a reprieve from suffering, but validates the child’s self-worth, sending positive messages of support and encouragement, reminding the child what it is to have hope. This important program began in 1990 and became part of Imua Family Services in 2015. Over the last 30 years, the program has filled nearly 1,500 dreams from turning little girls into princesses and little boys into superheroes. The program offers children a chance to escape their difficult lives through helicopter rides, zip-lining, music lessons, horseback riding and more. Dream Imua relies on community support and involvement to help make these dreams a reality for those in need.

(HCAP STEM) The Ha Initiative: Creative STEM After-School Program is a free Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) after-school program for youth in grades 2-8. The program provides year-round tutoring, mentorship, and fun STEM activities in a safe after-school setting at five STEM Exploration Center locations on Oʻahu.

Ohana Makamae offers Domestic Violence Intervention through our Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP).  This service is for individuals who are perpetrators of domestic violence.  Our aim is to help clients achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles that promote growth, balance and wellness; and to provide a safe place where they can gain understanding and knowledge into their behaviors.  Through our  Batterer's Intervention Program our clients can meet their obligations to the courts and become empowered to make right choices.Our BIP program utilizes the “Alternate Behavior Choices” (ABC) curriculum; a research-based domestic violence curriculum by John Hamel, PhD, LCSW. The Alternate Behavior Choices curriculum is appropriate for both voluntary and court-mandated individuals, and exceeds the legal requirements for batterer intervention programs in Hawaii.

(SBA EIDL, EDIL) --US SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan applications are due Thursday, January 7, 2027-- The United States Small Business Administration (US SBA) provides Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EDIL) to small business, small agricultural cooperative, and most private nonprofit organizations located in a declared disaster area. Eligibility -Substantial economic injury means the business is unable to meet its financial obligations and pay its regular and necessary operating expenses -Loss of expected profits or a decline in sales is not considered substantial economic injury -EIDL provides the necessary working capital to help small businesses impacted by a disaster survive until normal operations resume -EIDL assistance is available only to small businesses when the SBA determines they are unable to obtain credit elsewhere -Businesses must meet the following criteria to qualify for economic injury: The business was directly impacted by the disaster, the business cannot cover expenses due to the disaster and/or debt payments, the business was physically located in the declared disaster area. The SBA can provide loans to help cover the costs and expenses that your business would have been able to handle if the disaster did not happen. The EIDL amount will depend on how much financial impact you have experienced and your company’s financial needs, even if you didn't suffer any property damage. Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities.
