The "Enhancements" include such needs as medical, dental, glasses, travel, sports fees, school graduation packages, classes in hula, ukulele, karate, as well as summer school or correspondence school courses, therapy and counseling, air fare so youth can participate in inter-island cultural and sports events, and orthodontia (braces). (ADRC) The Aging and Disability Resource Center is the source for individuals who are aging and have disabilities to get impartial information about support and services that help them remain living at home as long as possible with dignity and quality of life. The ADRC staff members provide Options Counseling. It's a process that assists you to make informed decisions to select the long term services and support you need to age well and maintain independence.
The ADRC is for people of all incomes and ages, to help you make plans that carry out your individual needs and preferences. It is also a point of access for all publically funded long term support programs and benefits. ADRC is operated by the State of Hawaii in cooperation with the four county governments.

(Homeless Careavan Program) Provides outreach for homeless individuals. Currently uses van, Care-A-Van outreach specialist to travel to beaches/parks and other areas on Kauai where homeless people live or congregate.
Unsheltered Homeless Protocol for Members of the Public.
If you wish to assist a person who is homeless, who might be setting up "residence" in a public area or needing a health and safety intervention, the following actions should be taken:
-Note the exact location and time when the person who is homeless is known to frequent the area.
-Note any identifying information for the person who is homeless, e.g., physical description and number in the group.
-Provide the above information to Kauai Economic Opportunity via email at [email protected] or call (808) 245.4077, x228. Email is the preferred means of communication.
Also provide the name and email/phone number of the person providing the information for follow up if the person who is homeless cannot be found.
