Provides shelter for persons who are homeless and who are willing to abide by house rules (including, but not limited to: no drugs, no alcohol, no violence) for a maximum of six weeks. Operation Hero is an afterschool program that targets military children who have been identified by teachers, counselors, or parents as exhibiting low self-esteem, or who have difficulty adjusting, both academically and sociall t the school environment. Oftentimes, these difficulties can be attributed to frequent moves and family disruption due to deployments. The curriculum is designed to help children cope with the challenges of military life, provide tools to help them succeed in school, and assist them in developing a positive self-image while improving communication skills. This program promotes social responsibility through team-building activities and targets children.

• Broken or knocked-out tooth.
• Dry socket or other result of a recent surgery, including stitches that need to be removed.
• Pain from a dental appliance that needs fitting or trimming.

(Domestic Violence Services for Families) When child abuse occurs in the home, violent behavior towards spouses and others is also often present. After a family is required to enter the child welfare system and is discovered to be experiencing other forms of domestic violence a care plan is developed for each family member. Services are then provided for both survivors (victims) and batterers (perpetrators) of violent behavior. Survivors create a safety plan and are offered various supportive services. Batterers are assessed and provided opportunities to learn alternative attitudes and behaviors. This program works with families involved in the child welfare system who are also experiencing domestic violence. Staff work with each family to assess for domestic violence and/or risk factors related to domestic violence. A care plan is developed for each family member. The services that are available for each family include: Domestic Violence Survivor Support and Pattern Changing Groups for Victims, Individual Counseling and Support for each family member, Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focusing on children, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Children’s Support Groups, and/or Adolescent Support Groups.
