United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i runs an island-wide (O‘ahu only) donation pick-up service, and the reusable clothing and small household items collected are sold to Savers thrift store. While providing funding for our programs, we’re also able to help reduce the burden on the landfills as well. Donated goods are recycled rather than discarded.

Compassion for Cancer Caregivers provides a 2-hour virtual session on creating a network of support for a cancer caregiver and/or patient. Topics Include: The Wall of Silence, Walking in Their Shoes, Actions Speak Louder Than Words, A Journey of 1,000 Miles Begins with a Single Step. Virtual and in-person meetings are offered. The site for in-person meetings are mutually determined.

(Society for Konas Education and Art) Offers Kona schools a "menu" of art (performing, literary & visual) activities for teachers. Works with the teachers to expand upon curriculum themes. Sponsors a youth group to advise on youth programs. Offers art workshops for adults & children and special events such as concerts and ho'olaulea. Art Camps for Children and Magic Camp during the October school break.

Coordinates access to courses and programs from the University of Hawaii System to West Hawaii. The Student Services Center provides support service for potential and registered students. Provides information on financial aid, program requirements, admissions, tuition, student rights, registration and other academic regulations.

Aloha Harvest rescues quality donated food from hotels, restaurants, food distributors, caterers, businesses and individuals then delivers the food "free of charge" to approved social service agencies that feed the needy, hungry and homeless on Oahu. We store nothing. What is picked up each day is delivered that same day to the agencies. The drivers' routes are Sunday-Saturday 5:30 am - 1:00 pm.

Noise Section: Administers departmental rules on community and vehicle noise control. Investigates complaints of noise. Processes community noise permits and conducts inspections of permit sites. Youth for Christ Hawaii is a dynamic, local youth organization that is committed to helping teens reach their ultimate potential physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Works to improve and maintain individual and community health. Addresses the following key areas: healthy community development (coalition development, community health organization, community strategic planning, facilitation, assisting grant writing, needs assessment, evaluation methodology in community health), risk reduction (includes tobacco prevention/education, physical activity promotion, chronic dieases, and injury prevention and control). Conducts community and professional education and training in public health education practices, methodology, and principles. (Friends of Mokuula) Friends of Moku'ula Inc. assists in historic preservation and restoration of culturally significant Native Hawaiian sites in the Waine'e Ahupua'a area of Lahaina moku, including Moku'ula, a sacred island buried under a ballpark, and Mokuhinia pond wetlands. Programs include: educational programs for community, historical and cultural tours for visitors, historic site restoration, archaeology, Hawaiian cultural training, historical archive research.

(WAP) Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) reduces utility costs for low-income families and individuals by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes. We partner with local specialists to provide professional home energy assessments and replace appliances with energy-efficient alternatives. Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, and fields. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, and seasonal activities. Registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Strengthens families to prevent child abuse and neglect through developing and supporting family-centered, community programs by advocating for improved child welfare services.

(WAP) Assists qualifying households to reduce utility costs by providing a variety of energy efficient measures--including LED light bulbs, ENERGY STAR appliances, solar water heaters, energy-efficient showerheads, faucets aerators, and more--free of charge. Regulates the manufacture, importation, sale and consumption of intoxicating liquors. Oversees liquor license applications. Hears and determines all complaints regarding violations of the liquor control laws of the state, or complaints regarding violations of rules and regulations established by the Liquor Commission. Imposes fines or punishment as may be provided by law. Adopts rules and regulations which have the effect of laws in the county. Enforces the provisions of the liquor laws. Grants, renews or refuses applications for liquor licenses. After an establishment has a liquor license, Commission investigators make periodic checks at the establishment. (Perinatal Addiction Treatment of Hawaii) PATH Clinic's focus is assisting pregnant and parenting women with a history of substance use disorders. Services include obstetrics/gynecology, primary medical care, behavioral health, tobacco treatment, insurance navigation, and other support. PATH Clinic's “Childbirth Education Classes” aims to achieve better health outcomes for both mother and child and more capable parenting. Classes are held three times each month 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm.

Enforces the State Wage and Hour Law, Wages and Hours of Employees on Public Works Law, Payment of Wages and Other Compensation Law, Child Labor Law, and Hawaii Family Leave Law.
