Operation Hero is an afterschool program that targets military children who have been identified by teachers, counselors, or parents as exhibiting low self-esteem, or who have difficulty adjusting, both academically and sociall t the school environment. Oftentimes, these difficulties can be attributed to frequent moves and family disruption due to deployments. The curriculum is designed to help children cope with the challenges of military life, provide tools to help them succeed in school, and assist them in developing a positive self-image while improving communication skills. This program promotes social responsibility through team-building activities and targets children.

The City and County of Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) provides information on how to apply for building permits related to the Kona Low. When applying for a building permit in HNL Build that is for work related to the Kona low, please follow the instructions below. If you have an HNL Build account, please sign in. Please select your permit type. Note: If the type of work you are performing would normally qualify for a Quick Permit, please select Building Permit Application instead. Roots Reborn supports migrant and immigrant families by helping them access critical resources and services. We offer hands-on support with applications for aid, provide language support, and assist with navigating complex systems. Through strong community partnerships, including MauiWES, Kaiser Permanente, CNHA, and Maui United Way, we connect individuals to healthcare services, housing resources, and financial support.

The Maui Red Cross provides disaster response to those affected by disasters in Maui County and shares critical preparedness information to the community so that people can prepare before a disaster strikes. All disaster response and disaster training are provided at no charge. Training classes such as first aid and CPR are available for a fee.
