(Maui Second Circuit Self Help Center Hoapili Hale) The Maui Court Self-Help Center will provide legal help to the community on a pilot basis. Volunteer attorneys from the Maui County Bar Association will provide limited legal information by telephone in areas such as landlord-tenant, family, and other district court matters. Access by telephone for Molokai, Lanai and Hana residents only when the center is open. The Center does not accept voice messages. Court Navigators for Lanaʻi, Maui, and Molokaʻi are now available by email In 2018, an in-person Volunteer Court Navigator Program was established in the Second Circuit (Maui County). Volunteer Court Navigators assisted unrepresented individuals at Hoapili Hale by answering questions concerning court resources, locations, and procedures. Note: Volunteer Court Navigators cannot provide legal advice or representation. The Volunteer Court Navigator Program has expanded to include services by email. Unrepresented persons can now submit requests for information to: [email protected] The Navigators will make every effort to respond to requests for information pertaining to cases in the Second Circuit (Lanaʻi, Maui, Molokaʻi) within one business day, although it may sometimes take longer to obtain the information necessary to respond to requests for information.

To create one, file a complaint with the FTC and print your Identity Theft Affidavit. Use that to file a police report and create your Identity Theft Report. An Identity Theft Report will help you deal with credit reporting companies, debt collectors, and businesses that gave the identity thief credit or opened new accounts in your name. You can use the Report to: -get fraudulent information removed from your credit report -stop a company from collecting debts that result from identity theft, or from selling the debt to another company for collection -place an extended fraud alert on your credit report -get information from companies about accounts the identity thief opened or misused

(SASS, Empowering Alternatives Program, EAP, Sexual Assault Response and Advocacy Services, SARAH) Operates a 24-hour crisis hotline for persons affected by a sex assault, including women, men, girls and boys. Offers information, referral and direct support to any person victimized. Support is also provided during police, medical examinations and legal matters surrounding the crime, advocacy, counseling, and therapy.

Provides counseling and information on anorexia nervosa, bulimia and other eating disorders. Assists in starting local self-help groups for victims and parents. Provides listing of therapists and hospitals who provide treatment. Distributes its national newsletter to anorexics, bulimics, family members, health professionals and schools. Also works on advocacy issues and does research.

(Al-Anon Molokai, Alanon Family Group Maui, Alateen Maui) Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of those who feel their lives have been deeply affected by someone else’s drinking. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Members, who come from all walks of life, meet to share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Alateen is a recovery program for teenagers whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking. (Malama Aina Foundation) This program provides students and their facilitators from Native Hawaiian communities with hands-on learning activities combined with the experience of Hawaiian cultural values and practices, to achieve academic success in math and science. Activities include: 1. In-school science and math support for middle school students and teachers through curriculum training and supplement, tutoring, teaching, and mentoring; 2. After school hands-on STEM and Hawaiian cultural experiences, increasing student knowledge of STEM content as aligned to the common core math and next generation science standards; and 3. During intersession and summer breaks, expose students to STEM by integrating math and science with Hawaiian cultural practices.

Holds jury trials and has general jurisdiction in Civil and Criminal cases. Has exclusive jurisdiction in Probate, Guardianship, and Criminal felony cases, as well as Civil cases where the contested amount exceeds $20,000. Shares concurrent jurisdiction with the District Court in Civil non-jury cases that specify amounts between $10,000 - 20,000. Conducts a drug court program, in which defendants are placed in drug rehabilitation programs instead of prison.
