Senior Programs also produces a monthly publication to provide seniors valuable resources and information.

Early Intervention Services are for children from birth to age three who have developmental concerns and focuses on improving the physical, cognitive, communicative, adaptive, social and emotional development of the child. As parents are the child’s first teachers, services are provided through one primary early intervention professional using parent coaching strategies. In addition, the program helps families by providing information, demonstrations and support to caregivers that helps them better understand their children’s developmental needs and how to meet them. Care coordination is available to help families utilize resources at home and in the community. Support Plans are developed in partnership with the family and service team that build on strengths and priorities of the family. Two main programs make up the foundation of Abilities Unlimited - the Medicaid Waiver Program and the Employment Program: -Medicaid Waiver Program serves individuals with disabilities referred by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division, offering personal assistance/habilitation services, adult day health services, and employment services for medicaid waiver clients. -Employment Program serves clients referred by the State of Hawaii Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), assisting individuals with disabilities and other barriers to gain and maintain employment. (Alanon Family Group East Hawaii, Alateen East Hawaii) Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of those who feel their lives have been deeply affected by someone else’s drinking. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Members, who come from all walks of life, meet to share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Alateen is a recovery program for teenagers whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking. (Pet Food Bank) Temporary assistance of dry and canned dog and cat food for pet owners who need help feeding their animals. -Bring your own reusable bag to take pet food home to your pets. -Assistance is limited to one application per household. -Applications must be filled out completely in order to receive assistance. -The Pet Food Bank is for personal pet animals only. We are unable to provide food for cat colony caregivers or persons feeding Free-Roaming cats. Provides regulatory functions over the handling and disposal of solid and hazardous waste and over the operating of underground storage tanks. Sets protection standards aimed at ground water and drinking water preservation. Monitors and enforces compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Promotes recycling, composting and other waste diversion activities through education and technical assistance. Provides educational assistance to household hazardous waste collection programs.

Hookuaaina hosts weekly community days. By participating, volunteers learn the traditional way of cultivating kalo and make meaningful connections to place and with one another while having fun in the mud.
