On the 4th Saturday of every month, we welcome the public to Pia Valley to meet members of our local conservation community and help restore the biodiversity and resilience of the ahupuaa. Activities include: -A short 6-minute hike from the Anolani Street cul-de-sac to the restoration site in Pia Valley. -Hear a brief history of the area, our organization, watershed health, native ecosystems, and the cultural importance of ahupuaa land management. -Sing an oli (Hawaiian chant) and go over invasive species identification, removal, and safety protocols, -Participate in light clearing, watering, weeding, and planting.

Uses a needs assessment tool to determine appropriate health insurance option, including retiree/federal or veteran insurance as well as marketplace, medicare and medicaid solutions. Guides consumers through the healthcare.gov marketplace eligibility and application process using a direct enrollment pathway. The system reduces need for complicated identity verification modules and allows the enrollee or a marketplace assister select a plan and enroll in under 15 minutes. Reviews eligibility information and enrollment forms to help individuals who may qualify for medicare, medicare savings programs and/or medicaid programs. Refers individuals to appropriate state or federal agencies for issues that require investigation and follow up. Compares plan benefits, pricing, deductibles and services that are not covered. Uploads required documents to facilitate marketplace enrollments. Monitors enrollments for acceptance, premium payments and issuance of member identification cards. Assists with cancellation of the marketplace plan if no longer needed. Trains team of community certified application assisters and monitors annual recertification and credentials. Ensures all activities are compliant and meet federal and state regulations including protected health information mandates. Develops and distributes outreach materials to community health centers, food bank distribution locations, and other venues where the newly unemployed utilize resources available due to the pandemic. No face to face contact needed to enroll and those that qualify for Medicaid will be contacted by Medicaid with eligibility results and/or approval. Health premium subsidy based on household income. There is a 60 day window beginning the day coverage is lost to qualify for the special enrollment period.

(Hawaii Baptist Academy Preschool at GracePoint) Hawaii Baptist Academy (HBA) at GracePoint allows the children to grow at their own individual rates of development. Outreach and case management for the homeless. Provides flexible intake. Operates four 4WD vehicles which locate and identify homeless and at-risk population. Kokua Harvest is Hawaii Island’s food rescue project. We prevent food waste at its source, build community resilience and connection, and strengthen access to healthy, nutrient-dense fresh fruit and vegetables. We harvest and distribute excess produce to low-income communities throughout Hawaii Island. Through the act of rescuing and sharing food, we connect and nourish our community to build stronger relationships and a deeper appreciation for food. Food rescue (also known as “gleaning”) is the ancient tradition of collecting excess fresh food from farms, gardens, restaurants, or other sources and donating it to those in need. It is a successful model for reducing the waste of valuable produce, and it gives low-income individuals access to fresh and locally-grown foods that are not always available in their communities. Hawaii is fortunate to have a year-round growing season and a long cultural tradition of sharing and growing food. Still, every year thousands of pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables go to waste on farms large and small. Backyard fruit trees and excess garden produce also go unharvested. (Food Pantry) Full Gospel Church of Oahu provides food to the needy, poor, homeless or sick people.

The Family Law Division performs all Family Court actions on behalf of the state including child and adult protective services, truancies, adolescent mental health cases, involuntary civil mental commitments hearings, minor and adult guardianship, adoptions, etc. Our specialized units (Family Support Unit) perform paternities and (Dead Beat Parents Unit) dead beat parents. The division also provides support to the Child Support Enforcement Agency.

Provides counseling services to juveniles who are at risk and beyond parental control. Refers client to professional agencies and therapist if needed.

(Kapiolani Womens Center) Provides screening and diagnostic mammography. Offers breast and ultrasound, osteoporosis diagnostic testing and more. Provides psychological counseling, Tai Chi classes, and various other fitness classes. Provides counseling regarding women's health and issues including stress and anxiety management, menopausal concerns, depression, coping with major life changes, managing illness and much more.

Administers urgent care for sudden illnesses or injuries and your physician is not available.

Conducts all law enforcement. Receives all public service calls. Administers firearms registration. Handles abandoned vehicle reporting. Provides information regarding traffic services. Also provides information on the Neighborhood Watch Program.

(ELR) Early Learning Readiness (ELR) for Family, Friend and Neighbor Caregivers is a research-based community program that gives young children (not in facility-based childcare), high-quality physical, emotional and cognitive experiences. It also equips their teacher, ensuring they start kindergarten ready to learn. The program provides a stimulating, preschool-like experience through learning centers that foster young child development and improve school readiness, while also supporting and developing the skills and knowledge of caregivers. Early Learning Readiness - services are provided at the Aliamanu Military Reservation for the Pearl Harbor locations.

Assists people with a one-time credit once every 12 month rolling period. Maximum subsidy may not exceed $300. Clients may not apply for this program and Kauai Economic Opportunity Low Income Assistance Program in the same 12 month rolling period.

(Loaves and Fishes) Sacred Heart Church provides food to those in need. Food Pantry Dates for 2021- Once a month on November 24th and December 16th Beginning 2022 - food pantry services will be available the 4th Thursday of every month

(AOP) Alana Ola Pono Kauhale will have 43 tiny units (5 wheelchair accessible). All participants will have access to the Institute for Human Services' (IHS) supportive services and programs: health services, employment services, case management, and housing navigation. Single persons and couples may be eligible. 2 pets may be eligible to be in the Kauhale as well.
