The Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center serves Hawai'i communities by reducing the harm and fighting the stigma of HIV, hepatitis, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and poverty in our community. We focus our efforts on those disproportionately affected by social determinants of health, including but not limited to: people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, substance use, and the transgender, LGBQ and the Native Hawaiian communities. We foster health, wellness, and systemic change in Hawai'i and the Pacific through care services, advocacy, training, prevention, education, and capacity building.

Each year, Hawai‘i Opera Theatre produces an opera specifically designed to take “on tour” to schools all around the state. In addition to being a great experience with music and drama, this show can also be used to enhance curriculum. Themes are relevant to social studies, language arts, math and more. This production is recommended for grade level K-8 and family audiences but has also been successful with middle and high school audiences as well. Cost per performance is $325 with the recommended audience size of 200 students per performance. The production uses live music accompaniment. (Sex Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

Parent Participation Preschool is a three-phased program for parents to assist in their child's transition from home to school. Each phase requires a different amount of participation. The children progress through the program based on their development and mastered skills not age. -Pueo (Phase 1): Children begin a foundational program where they are introduced to a more structured learning environment. The programs main focuses are colors, shapes, letter recognition, and more. The class meets twice a week for 2 hours. This class requires 100% parents participation. -Honu (Phase 2): Children entering Honu possess some basic, fundamental preschool abilities and are inspired to work independently, explore academics, use their creativity, and learn the importance of a daily routine. (McGruff Program, Take a bite out of Crime Program) Provides education, training, research, and coordination and monitoring of federal grants on the issues of crime prevention and system improvement to criminal justice agencies, the Legislature, and citizens to establish a safer and better informed community. Offers programs including the McGruff "Take a Bite Out of Crime" program, internet safety, and crime research and trend analysis. Coordinates and administers federal grants including the Edward Byrne Memorial Grant (criminal justice block grant for drugs and violent crime, available only to government agencies). Violence Against Women Act (grant for violence against women), and Victim of Crime Act (grant for victim assistance and compensation programs). Leads the Hawaii Sexual Assault Response and Training Program consisting of a multidisciplinary, multi-agency effort to assist sexual assault victims and hold offenders accountable.

(Hawaii Copd Coalition) Hawaii Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (HiCOPD) Coalition was formed in 2007 to provide services and improve treatment of Hawaii adults diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) including emphysema, chronic bronchitis, and its related disorders. Program serves patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals and others offering free lung health information, free paper and pen screening tests, tobacco cessation information, monthly support group meetings, presentations on COPD, advocacy, training for volunteers/healthcare workers about COPD and Smoking Cessation counseling, information sharing of licensure for Hawaii’s respiratory therapists which has successfully led to licensing. The Always Reading program works with partner schools to provide families of Pre-K and K students with a tablet, unlimited access to a digital children’s library featuring 40,000 diverse titles, gifted hard-copy books for their home libraries throughout the year, and a book coach. Students take the tablet home and our book coaches work with the families via text message to support and empower families to build strong reading routines in the home. Families keep the tablets once the program is complete.

(Steadfast Pacific) Acquires, develops, owns, and manages permanent supported housing suitable for occupancy by persons in Hawaii with chronic mental illness, also known as SMI (Seriously Mentally Ill). Operates 29 group homes (including duplex units) and 6 condominium units. All clients are being provided with mental health supportive services at the Community Mental Health Centers.
