(DPP Storm Response FAQs, DPP Storm Response Frequently Asked Questions) City and County of Honolulu Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) provides a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) with information about emergency repair work that may be completed without first obtaining a permit, provided a permit application is submitted on the next working day after work begins. ---The Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) will host a “Rebuild Oahu” event this Saturday, April 18, 2026 9:00 am - 5:00 pm at the Community Assistance Center located in the Waialua District Park gymnasium. To help residents make the most of their visit, DPP is offering free, one-on-one prescheduled appointments with staff throughout the day. Each 20-minute session will focus on helping participants navigate the process to repair or rebuild their home or business, including questions about zoning, permitting pathways, and any required approvals. Those interested are encouraged to sign up in advance using the link below, select a preferred time slot, and provide detailed information and questions so staff can better prepare for their specific needs. (Ohana Connections Program) The core beliefs of the program are: all children entering foster care have the right to know and connect with their family, a right to learn about their family history, a right to maintain their family relationships, and a right to belong to a family, community, and place. Like all children, they deserve to feel stable, secure, and loved. The ‘Ohana Connections Program, working in conjunction with the ‘Ohana Finding Program, finds and engages the foster youth’s family members and other kinship family, and then helps nurture and support those renewed family connections. The time it takes for `Ohana Connections to be completed varies in length for each family, but all efforts work toward the goal of the program: to help families reweave their family cloth so every foster child has relationships that can last for a lifetime.
