The Great Aloha Run is an 8.12-mile foot race beginning at Aloha Tower and finishes in the Aloha Stadium. The race financially assists scholarship programs and special projects of selected charitable organizations which serve the community needs in the State of Hawaii.

The mission of the YWCA of O'ahu aquatics department is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where learning to swim and recreation through aquatics is the focus. One of the main tenets of the program is to encourage participants to do their best with their abilities. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement, the program seeks to build confidence and self-esteem in each person. We have pools at both Laniakea and Kokokahi, and offer a comprehensive swim program at each location. All aquatic staff members are certified Water Safety Instructors (Wintertree Software Inc.). (KGAR) A 1.2 mile (untimed) fun run for youth ages 12 and under at Ala Moana Beach Park. Annually, the event raises over $20,000 dollars to support participating public and private elementary schools’ PE, health education and physical activity programs. For as school to participate and qualify for a donation, a minimum of 10 participants per school must register to be eligible for a donation. (The Maui Farm) The Family Strengthening Program is a farm-based residential program providing transitional housing and life skills training for families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to domestic violence and economic issues. With a focus on the whole family, the program provides opportunities for daily learning and application of healthy life skills and effective parenting strategies in a safe home environment, and strengthens families to remain intact and healthy. Working in collaboration with partner agencies including Women Helping Women and other homeless services provider agencies, The Maui Farm’s services strengthen the continuum of care for struggling families. We provide a housing and family strengthening component after emergency shelter services have been maximized, and before families move on to long-term affordable housing in the community. The average duration of program participation is six to eighteen months. Shared housing is provided on-site at The Maui Farm, with monthly rental fees determined in compliance with federal HOME Program regulations.

Provides residential refuse collection service. Operates and maintains solid waste disposal facilities. Plans, designs, constructs, inspects and monitors all county solid waste projects. Establishes recycling programs to minimize landfills.

(Our Lady of Kea'au Spiritual Retreat Center) This is a retreat center located along 58 acres of the Waianae Coast, available to nonprofits for community and business meetings, conferences, and celebrations. Guests have access to furnished cabins, an outdoor kitchen, dining facilities, tennis courts, a swimming pool and open fields. As an extension of service to the community, Our Lady of Kea`au also prepares and serves meals for the homeless in the Waianae area. It also maintains a Christian homeless tent community on the premises.

We provide services for the families and children in the first 3 years of life. We work with families to support and strengthen them. We provide child growth and development information and positive parenting education to families. Offering home visitation services to eligible families, screening, emotional support to parents and linkage to other needed community services.

(KIPC, Car Seat and Booster Seat Safety, CPS) Keiki Injury Prevention Coalition (KIPC) provides a network of Car Seat Inspection Stations, technicians, and instructors certified in caregiver education on correct child restraint use and installation. KIPC provides appointments at Inspection Stations and conducts car seat checks at community events on Oahu. KIPC also provides standardized certification training for new technicians, and updates for those currently certified.

(Lanakila Meals on Wheels) Lanakila Meals on Wheels is Oahu's largest and only island-wide home delivery meal service program for seniors and people with disabilities, serving over approximately 200,000 meals each year. Provides frozen meals once a week delivered right to your front door. Someone must be home to accept deliveries usually Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 1:00 pm. Please inquire about fresh produce home delivery. You may be eligible through the City and County Aging and Disability Resource Center or your health insurance provider for free meal service.
