The mission of the YWCA of O'ahu aquatics department is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where learning to swim and recreation through aquatics is the focus. One of the main tenets of the program is to encourage participants to do their best with their abilities. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement, the program seeks to build confidence and self-esteem in each person. We have pools at both Laniakea and Kokokahi, and offer a comprehensive swim program at each location. All aquatic staff members are certified Water Safety Instructors (Wintertree Software Inc.). Swim classes are offered on various days and times for your convenience. All swim classes have a low student-to-teacher ratio.

Provides water safety (beach lifeguard) services at beach parks on Oahu. Conducts water safety presentations and lectures upon request to community groups, school groups and others (military, agencies, etc.). Provides information on jellyfish and beach closures. Provides a social and leisure club for teens and adults. Offers leisure education, leadership development, excursions, and service projects.

Susannah Wesley Community Center (SWCC) volunteers serve as a welcoming point of contact for neighbors seeking support. Volunteers help with food assistance, diapers, sorting donations for the free store, and being personal shoppers in the free store.

(Crisis Mobile Outreach) Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. Provides face to face assessment of a crisis situation and arrange appropriate course of action for adolescents.

Assists community with economic development and protecting the natural resources.

Legislates public policy through a nine member panel elected to a two year term. Responds to community priorities, schedules public hearings and receives public testimony.

(HMSA) Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) Centers and offices offer in-person customer service to members and employers with an HMSA health plan as well as individuals who are looking to enroll in an HMSA plan. Offers medical, dental, vision, and drug health care plans to individuals and employers. Plan options include fee-for-service, preferred provider organization, health maintenance organization and plans for students, self-employed and Medicare supplement.

Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC) is offering a free COVID-19 hotline to those experiencing symptoms or seeking information.

Food pantry on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Call for emergency food on days without a food pantry. Please bring a reusable bag and and ID if possible.

Families can take the online screening for Easter Seals Developmental Milestone Screening for children from birth to age 5. After questionnaire is submitted online, Easter Seals Hawaii will contact you. The services are at no cost to families.

Hawaiian Humane Society provides a pet microchipping service. Pet owners must also register their information with the company that manufactured their pet’s microchip or a free online database such as 24 Hour PetWatch or Found Animals. In 2022, the City and County of Honolulu replaced the dog licensing system with rules requiring that all pet dogs 3 months and older and cats 4 months and older must have microchip identification. Cats six months or older who are allowed outdoors are required by law to wear a collar with an identification tag.

Salvation Army Lihue provides a grab and go or eat on site meal Tuesday-Thursday 11:00 am - 12:00 pm or until meals run out.

Primary Care health & social services including diagnoses & treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Provides physical exams and immunizations. Offers specialty care in internal medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatric/behavioral health, optometry, and dentistry. Provides midwife services from prenatal to delivery and postpartum. Provides health, education, outreach and case management. Provides WIC (Women, Infant, & Children) nutrition services. Provides flu vaccines. Also provides a Smoke-Free Families Program.
