Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Neighborhood Advice and Counsel clinics are being held in-person and via telephone. Clients are responsible for all legal deadlines associated with their case. We experience a high volume of calls. Food is sourced from manufacturers, growers, retailers, wholesalers, Feeding America, individual and corporate food drives and federal commodities where our staff and volunteers prepare these items for safe and efficient distribution through our partnership of more than 200 agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, domestic abuse shelters and rehabilitation centers. Food distribution is also through food pantries in local communities and the Ohana Produce Plus program, which provides fresh produce and assorted groceries to anyone in need while supplies last. To become a food partner agency, organizations must be a publicly supported 501(c)(3) and meet Hawaii Foodbank and Feeding America requirements. Symphony Program

(Orchestral Music Education for Youth, HYSA) The Hawaii Youth Symphony advances critical and positive links between music study, academic achievement, and social emotional development with programs that service youth through orchestral music education, performance opportunities, and community engagement. HYS envisions a Hawaii where every young person can experience the timeless value of music, learn to play a musical instrument, or otherwise embrace a lifelong appreciation for musical learning. During the academic year, HYS operates three full-symphonic orchestras and four string orchestras, instructing students who range in ability from absolute beginners to very experienced. Education and performance are key elements of the HYS curriculum. During the summer months, HYS conducts two outreach programs: Summer Strings geared toward elementary school children; and the Pacific Music Institute (PMI), a music immersion program for middle and high school students from all islands of Hawaii, the mainland and the Asia/Pacific region. Harbors Division - Oahu

The City and County of Honolulu provides 10 public refuse drop-off locations: 6 convenience centers, 3 transfer stations and 1 landfill, around the island for residents to dispose of their household rubbish. Residents may use any of these locations free of charge. Maintains sites for disposal of ordinary household refuse. Convenience centers are reserved for residential waste material only, commercial or business refuse (from tree trimmers, roofers, plumbers, small stores, farmers, etc.) is strictly prohibited. Provides information on disposal of other wastes such as dead animals (Animal carcasses and waste products should be taken to City landfill), demolition, construction debris, asbestos or hazardous materials.
