National Down Syndrome Society
The National Down Syndrome Society is the leading human rights organization for all individuals with Down syndrome. The National Down Syndrome Society envisions a world in which all people with Down syndrome have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realize their life aspirations and become valued members of welcoming communities. Through our toll-free helpline (800-221-4602) and email service ([email protected]), NDSS receives more than 10,000 requests a year for information on Down syndrome. An NDSS Information & Referral Specialist is available to respond to email inquiries and phone calls between the hours of 9am and 5pm ET, Monday - Friday. The helpline is also supported by a translation service that can be accessed in over 150 languages. NDSS also produces print materials on Down syndrome. These include A Promising Future Together: A guide for new and expectant parents, Aging and Down Syndrome: A health and well-being guidebook, NDSS Brochure and Get to Know Me Poster and Lesson Plan.
