Application process

Walk-in, by phone, appointment required, written application, screening interview, waitlisting available, referral required, HMIS – Coordinated Entry System (CES).

Fees

Flat fee, 30% of income if any.

Hawaii (Big Island)

(HIHR) Provides Transitional Housing Program, Permanent Supportive Housing Program, Kitchen and Pantry Food Service Programs for the homeless. Provides assistance especially those with mental illnesses, substance abuse disorders, dual diagnosis, physical health and other disabilities, prioritizing the chronically homeless. Program helps achieve specific goals that includes but is not limited to obtaining and maintaining Transitional Housing, Supportive Permanent Housing and long-term Permanent Housing and will continue to provide Housing Services with Evidence-Based and Low-Barrier Service Models, as well as Coordinated Data Entry System utilizing (VI-SPDAT) and the Housing First Model Approached. Case Manager/Care Coordinator coordinates resources and community-based programs that helps with housing and other needs they may have. Maintains bi-weekly meetings to process and follow-up activities, conducts team meetings with providers including probation officers, mental health, substance abuse and medical.

HIHR Programs help focus the Homeless Population to achieve specific goals that includes but is not limited to: obtaining and maintaining Transitional Housing, Supportive Permanent Housing and long-term Permanent Housing, improving their life’s and general skills, increasing personal income, enhancing self-determination for pursuing life goals and dreams. HIHR will continue to provide Housing Services with Evidence-Based and Low-Barrier Service Models, as well as Coordinated Data Entry System utilizing (VI-SPDAT) and the Housing First Model Approached, which are the new trends in Homelessness Care that are strongly advocate and enforce by Federal, State, and Local Agencies, including Nationwide Private and Public Institutions and Organizations whether
