(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Credit, LIHEAP, LIHEAP EC, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) is a federal program that provides qualifying low-income households with a one-time credit to offset household energy costs.
Applications for this program are only accepted during the month of June.
The amount of the credit varies each year and is based on the total number of people living in the house.
Applicants must have an active electric account and are required to submit a current electric bill.
Applicants may apply, once per program year for one of the two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI).
-The Energy Credit program provides households who are not in crisis with a one-time payment which will be deposited directly into their utility accounts. Applications for energy credit accepted only during the month of June.
