Providing organization
Kaukau 4 Keiki
Bridging the summer gap, bringing food to our keiki. Throughout the school year, over 180,000 students have access to free or reduced priced breakfast and lunch meals at over 257 schools. During the summer months, only a limited number of feeding sites are open due to staffing and other logistics. While these sites are open to all children 18 and younger, meal participation is a fraction of what it normally is during the school year. One reason for the decrease is access to the meals. With limited bus transportation to sites that are open for feeding, some students do not have a way to get to and from the feeding sites to receive a meal... Kaukau 4 Keiki is our answer. Every child should have access to healthy nutritious food year round. Kaukau for Keiki is open to children 18 and younger (children with disabilities raise the age to 22) who live in the 967xx zip codes.
