Maintains temporary shelter for homeless animals. Provides animal adoption service. Offers humane euthanasia ill animals; investigates reports of cruelty and/or complaints on animals; dog licensing; humane education; and lost and found. Administers City and County reduced-rate Neuter Now program. Inspects pet shops, stables, etc. Accepts donations of running automobiles. Offers information to animal-related questions. Provides a list of 125 Oahu beaches that allow or restrict dogs (via the internet). Accepts birds that the public drops off for West Nile testing. Also takes public complaints about barking dogs.
