Provides information about services, programs and policies on the aging to the public. Advocates and coordinates programs and services for older adults and their families. Assists with solutions related to long term care in institutions. Schedules home visits to assess client needs and capacity. Provides information and referrals to client and follows-up on referrals. Assess and authorize for Kupuna Care services.

County of Maui Office on Aging

The Maui County Office on Aging provides services to the Islands of Maui, Molokai, and Lanai. The emphasis on Aging in Place underlies all activities in which our office engages. Every service, program, and product referred or implemented by the Maui County Office on Aging and contracted providers serve to assist Maui County’s seniors and adults with disabilities to lead independent, fulfilled, and dignified lives in their own homes and own communities for as long as possible. Services are provided through Federal (Title III), State, and County of Maui funds. For all funding sources, one must be 60 years of age and over to qualify for services. Also, for those receiving services through the State funded Kupuna Care Program (KC), there are other requirements that must be met to qualify. General Eligibility Requirements: U.S. citizen or qualified alien, 60 years or older, Client is not already receiving service from another government (e.g. Medicaid) or private service (e.g. Home Health Agency) provider
